I just got a new copy of MS Office 2010 pro yesterday. Since I work in the industry, I got it for 15 bucks instead of 500, which I highly recommend doing since the only program I'd pay 500 bucks for is one that would clean my house. It better cook and do laundry, too.
Anyway, I just installed it. Works great. Except, like all programs, you have to spend time trying to figure out how to get it to stop doing all the crap that you don't want. Turn off the damned smart quotes, please. Kill that font, ugh. But that's the way computers work. They tell you what you want it to do and make it halfway to impossible for you to figure out how to make it STOP.
I find it amusing in the same way that a lot of places charge a small fee when you buy a new computer to take all the 'convenience' crap off for you. Ah, PC's. Force feeding you advertisement since 1993.
