So I got the book, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, because I enjoyed Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Plus, the book has a trailer, and really, how many books can you say that about? I figured it would be amusing, a little spoofy, perhaps, and that is certainly the vibe I got from the trailer.

Um, wow. Talk about misleading. I have to admit, I enjoyed that book a lot more than I was expecting. The trailer may be a spoof but the book? Not so.

Not only was it deadly serious, he really pushed the history in it, made the book like it was real. Which I expected to some extent but really, not like that.

I'm also a little disturbed that I can really see the slash in it. My brain is slashing Abraham Lincoln. Y'all, this gal ain't right. But I bet I'm not the only one who sees it. ;)

Give it a try. It was an pretty good read.

I once read some fiction published by a short story writer about Lincoln and Frederick Douglass taking raft rides down a river in the moonlight and bantering. Hot hot hot.
