Not Really a Review: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

So I got the book, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, because I enjoyed Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Plus, the book has a trailer, and really, how many books can you say that about? I figured it would be amusing, a little spoofy, perhaps, and that is certainly the vibe I got from the trailer.

Um, wow. Talk about misleading. I have to admit, I enjoyed that book a lot more than I was expecting. The trailer may be a spoof but the book? Not so.

Not only was it deadly serious, he really pushed the history in it, made the book like it was real. Which I expected to some extent but really, not like that.

I'm also a little disturbed that I can really see the slash in it. My brain is slashing Abraham Lincoln. Y'all, this gal ain't right. But I bet I'm not the only one who sees it. ;)

Give it a try. It was an pretty good read.

I saw that one at the store the other day and it really interested me. Now for sure I will get it!

{and I am sure there really is some Lincoln slash out there. Really.}

Thanks; I'll have to check that out!

Along those lines, could I offer you The Amazing Screw-On Head?

Hah, love this comment: Any decent minded American would know that this is an insult to Abe Lincoln and everything he stood for.

I felt the same way when I read J. Gregory Keys' "Age of Unreason" quartet, only about Ben Franklin. Because Unreason!Ben is brilliant and a little bit arrogant and brave and...well...hot. And when he starts bantering with Voltaire... ::fans self::

And have you read "Queen Victoria: Demon Hunter" yet? It's kinda fun too, but silly.

I once read some fiction published by a short story writer about Lincoln and Frederick Douglass taking raft rides down a river in the moonlight and bantering. Hot hot hot.

I saw Bible slash on FF.net once. By comparison, Abraham Lincoln is just RPF :-D

It disturbs me a bit that I'm no longer disturbed by this kind of thing ...

From a modern eye, slashing Abe Lincoln isn't too much of a stretch. I wouldn't worry about it.
