Thanks for this wonderful story. I thought Illya's entire soliloquy was wonderful, so sad yet ironic, and the exchanges between Napoleon and Illya were great; I'm so glad you ended this story that way.
The flowers were cascading down the sides of the casket, leaving trails of moisture.
This was the image that really got to me. But the whole funeral set-up was perfect.
