Aragorn got what he wanted in 'Gleam'. Now Boromir can have what he wants. ;)

Here's an odd question for all of you out there.

Before I ask it though, let me speculate. See, I noticed recently that AOL has a new feature, one that allows you to see all the people who've added you recently to their buddy lists. (Yes, I use AOL. I keep it because keelywolfe@ aol.com is the addy attached to all my fics for the past 5 years, and I like for people to be able to find me.)

Anyway, I was rather astonished to see a bunch of people I don't know have me on their buddy list. Sadly, I usually have my IM's turned off because, well, when I'm online I'm usually writing and I simply can't talk and write at the same time. If I'm not writing, sometimes I turn 'em on. In fact, I turned off my IM's for a couple weeks after someone spoke to me and asked ME why they had added me to their buddy list. (How the hell would I know??) She quizzed me on all my fandoms and when we couldn't find one in common, she started asking me weird questions, like, What's your real name?. I freaked out and fled after that one.

Weird.

So, here is the question: What inspires you to add someone to your AIM buddy list? Do you just like someone's stories and want to talk to them or something? I mean, I'm really boring in person. Why would they want to talk to me? Not that I won't talk, I'm just not that interesting and I'm dreadfully shy. *G*

(I am so shy, so YOU can be quiet! You know who you are! *G*)
