I shoulda bought a lottery ticket

So I won an Ipad 2 at work. Pretty damned awesome, no? I just got it a couple of days ago and I think I've gotten to use it about...fifteen minutes. *G*

This is because my husband thinks that it is The Coolest New Toy EVAR!!

He is currently playing....errr...Army of Darkness, I think. He took it to work today and showed alllll his buddies his my new toy.

Soon. Soon I will get to use it.

It does seem to be fairly cool, though. And Free!!

I would knock him down and take it back if it were my spouse. ;-) But I've been trying to buy myself an iPad 2 for a few months now and since I want to pay for it outright and not use credit, I keep having things come up that have to be paid for like a broken printer and I have to keep putting off the purchase of a shiny toy.

I hate it. I am extremely jealous and that reminds me, I have a question! Is Batman Arkham a free-roaming game or does the game take you from one spot to the next? (That is - my spouse has NO sense of direction and cannot use maps, but everything else about the gameplay would be perfect for her. But she gets lost if the gameplay is free-roaming. Like God of War, she needs the game to make her go here, then there, then here and not let her get lost.)

I'd have to get a running start to knock him down. *G*

I've kinda been wanting a tablet but I haven't been able to justify the expense. Getting one for free was like the epitome of awesome. I am torn between bragging outrageously and apologizing to all the envious people

It's kind of both. When you're playing the game and going through the main quest line, it guides you to the next area. Not by pinpointing on a map, but rather, like playing Hot and Cold. Once you get there, each area has been fairly self-contained, like God of War. However, there are sidequests that you can do and those are more open-world.

On the plus side, it is also one of the most awesome games EVER and I say this as both a Batman and a video game fan. Seriously, best game so far of the year.

Oh, good - it sounds like she can play it, the main game at least, and not have to worry about getting completely lost. She couldn't do Prince of Persia at all because she couldn't figure out how to get where she was supposed to go. Since I'd heard such wonderful things about it I wanted to pick it up, but she's more of the gamer than I am so she has to be able to play it. (I have to play games that are geared towards easily-frustrated four year olds. ;-) Like LEGO games! I so very much want LEGO Lord of the Rings. And LEGO Three Musketeers.)

The next Lego Game, after Lego Harry Potter 5-7, is supposed to be Lego Justice League. *G*
