Feeling the love

Today I decided the best way to start the day would be to slip and fall, so that went well. I have hardwood floors and found a patch that was dangerously slippery to my sock-only feet. I was carrying a plate to the kitchen and it broke when I hit the floor and cut my hand. Tiny cut, but deep, and bleeding.

So there I am, laying on the floor dazed and bleeding, and my four-year old started to cry...because I broke her plate.

I can see that I have ingrained sympathy in her from birth. *G*

P.S. I'd like to report that I am okay, just a little sore. It didn't occur to me that I had to add that when I texted the event to my husband and he frantically replied to see if I was all right. I was sort of hoping the ability to text meant that I wasn't lying on the floor in a coma, but at least HE cared about me and not the plate!

ouch! yeah, aren't kids the most sensitive people sometimes?

hope you're feeling better.

I am really, really not laughing at you. ;-)

But what kind of plate was it??

One time I fell down the stairs and my kid just looked at me, like, "Hey Mom, what'cha doin' on the floor?"

*Hugs you* I've been there several times. Ice the sore places so they don't bruise as badly, and drink lots of water and be gentle with yourself. Falling like that is traumatizing.

Not even a special one! Just a plain small plate! Nice to know that I rate below the dishes. *G*

Kids... gotta love them. :)

I'm glad you are not badly hurt.

*hugs* Repeating the 'ice the sore places' and 'take it easy'.

I'm sorry you rank below the dishes, though it made me laugh because it's SO true! We moms rank below their stuff!

I'm all right, mostly damaged the plate and my pride. I'm more relieved it wasn't one of my good plates. *G*

My tush certainly wasn't happy about it and I think I strained my wrist, plus my cut hand but all and all, a little advil and I'm all right. Good thing it wasn't the girl's Hello Kitty plate, she'd never have forgiven me.

I never thought that my floors would attack me. I actually like hardwood floors but I guess I'll have to wear the socks with the little grippies on them to save my butt from further damage.

Kid should be glad I didn't fall on her. Years ago, when my son was an infant, I tripped while carrying him over a baby gate and sustained much worse damage because I automatically tried to protect him when we fell. As far as injuries go, though, attacked by hardwood floors is new to my list!

LOL. I'm laughing because I have a 4 year old and can sympathize.

I'm LOLing, but yes, I'm glad you're okay and it wasn't a good plate that broke.

Oh man, that's so true, I can't stop laughing. *fistbump of (un)worthiness* Glad it wasn't something really serious!

Oh dear! Glad to hear you are OK. So sad about that plate though...;)

Extends sympathy. Even though plates are pretty important.

That attachment to dishes doesn't ever really go away. ^_^ I accidently broke one of my Mom's bowls and she looked at me like if I had kicked the dog.

But I'm glad that you're feeling decent after the fall. Heating blankets/pads are amazing as well if you're sore.

See, I thought clearly it must be the special Princess plate or something. But just a regular one - well, at least you know what her priorities are. ;-)

Ek!!! Sorry to hear that you ended up with a cut hand, but glad to hear that you are otherwise ok!

Oh, ouch! Sorry about the lack of sympathy from the kiddo!
