Well...maybe he's not. He's eighteen, his entire life has changed in the space of a few weeks, he nearly died, and now he's suddenly got alien bugs living on him that might possibly be forcing him to think he's in love with his best friend.

And...sure, that's perfectly fine - understandable, even, given how young he is. I don't think many eighteen-year-olds ARE ready for a major romantic commitment. My only problem with that is - does *Bumblebee* really understand that? Because from my perspective, Bee seems pretty serious about Sam (I mean, he's already picked out their matching rings matching tats) and I don't think he's gotten the memo about maybe Sam not being mature enough for commitment. Of course, it's not like Bee has opened up lines of discussion about it either, but I give him a bit more slack since he's - well - an alien, and I assume he doesn't always understand the way human minds work. And since Bee doesn't seem to have problems with commitment himself maybe he sees Sam's actions and thinks the boy is totally wanting to commit to him, since he hasn't said anything different? I don't know. But, yeah, I totally agree that they both need to have a long talk about a few things. LOL. ;-)

Also, good point about the 'best friend' situation. It's not that I think Sam's wrong to ask for advice, per se, it's just, again, his habit of seemingly using it as a way to keep from talking to the person he should be talking to about some of his problems, and that's Bumblebee. Of course, procrastination and avoidance definitely seem to be Sam-traits, just like when he was trying to find any reason at all not to contact his parents when they had their big fight.

I'm happy to hear that the 'What could possibly go wrong?' comment was meant to be more sarcastic than a potential sign of trouble ahead. :) Also, another good point about the fact that there would be no story without a little conflict, which is absolutely true, but definitely doesn't make situations any less frustrating at times for us pesky readers. You certainly know how to keep us on our toes. ^_~

And I don't know, but for some reason Bee does come across as being more forgiving and understanding than Sam - maybe it's just that he is more mature, since he's so much older? Also, when Sam made out with Sideswipe when Bee got injured, I believe Sideswipe implied that he knew Bee wouldn't hold that against Sam, since it was under such stressful situations and he needed the comfort. I think that part of the story might have really made me see Bee as more forgiving or whatever. I'll have to concede, though, that Sam was just as understanding about the whole Sideswipe and Bee situation, though, so this is probably more to do with character perception on my part than anything. *shrug*

And yeah, I really felt bad for Sam, when he found out about the whole Ratchet masturbatory debacle - that was really wrong of Bee to keep that from him and I was so angry on Sam's behalf during that whole thing. So yeah, I certainly think that was cheating, too, and Sam had every right to feel mad and betrayed (which he did). The whole Sideswipe thing with Bee, though, I don't consider to be infidelity since, first of all, Sam was fully aware of what was going on, and two, he had given permission for it to happen. Major difference between that and the Ratchet ordeal. So, yeah, if Sam were to get permission from Bee to be with someone else I would have no problem with it - it's just that he doesn't seem to be planning to discuss this whole 'finding a willing human' thing with Bee added to the fact that he never told him about the Sunstreaker make-out session. Just starts to make Sam's actions seem more shady. Which I'm sure is for plot purposes but I just had to comment on it. LOL.

Anyway, once again I have rambled on ad nauseum. I really hope I haven't offended you; if anything it's a credit to you and how well-written your story is that I am obviously as emotionally invested as I am. :) Also, after a while, characters start to seem kind of like old friends who sometimes do silly things that kind of make you want to smack 'em even though you love 'em anyway. <3
