The moment Spock entered Kirk's mind (with almost indecent haste, it's been point out elsewhere!), surely it would be a temptation impossible to ignore because the mind and soul of young Kirk is the the same as Spock's long-lost beloved Jim's, and as soon as young Kirk saw the memories and recognised himself and who he had been to this noble Vulcan, it would have been impossible for him to refuse what Spock (and perhaps he, too), so desperately needed. This is a beautiful, painful and poignant piece of writing. Thank you!
