I know a handful of people who've gone through the same thing, and NONE of them had any kind of long-lasting damage. One of them had some infected tissue removed and has a small scar, but she was also the one who didn't go to the hospital until she was burning up with fever days and days after she was bitten. Please try not to worry too much! He's getting treated and he's going to be okay. It's hard to watch him go through it, but it's temporary and he's in the right place.
